Keeping Kids Entertained While You Work

Keeping Kids Entertained While You Work

By Tim Bailey

If you work from home full-time or even just occasionally, you might find it difficult to get your work done with small children in the house. One of the best ways of handling this dilemma is to give them some paperwork of their own. They can even work on their "work" in your office right along with you, which will make both of you happy. If you have enough…

Learning to Change Yourself Can Make You a Better Parent

Between taking care of our children, keeping the house tidy and clean, cooking, laundry and possibly working away from home or at home, it's not uncommon for us moms to feel overwhelmed and behind with our work load. As a work at home mom myself, I'd like to share some tips of time management for moms that have helped keep me feeling on track, productive and not too drained on a day to day basis.

Prioritization: When pondering over efficient time management for moms it's important to…

Teenage Years ; Poems by Dr Audrey Coatesworth

I write from my concern for children and teenagers - not from any criticism of any one in particular or parents in general. I know that there are many fantastic parents with responsible teenagers who work and play hard, care about others and make the choice to take neither drugs nor alcohol. I also know that there are parents who have tried their hardest and their children make choices that do not lead to health of happiness. All make their own choices but my view is that no parents must renege…See More

FamilyIgloo Vision : Empowering families through knowledge and networking

FamilyIgloo was developed to serve as an informative, safe, fun and synergistic social family network site. With today’s ever increasing hectic lifestyles, getting informed about family related news and connecting with likeminded peers is often a difficult task to accomplish. Time and again couples with young children have limited occasion to socialize outside the family unit, which becomes one of our primary goals.
We hope that this site will allow families to get informed about some of the latest family related web articles, enforce long distance ties, get to know their neighborhood, find families with similar outdoor/indoor hobbies, and share photos, videos, and precious moments with selected members. We also hope that families will get to meet each other in a SECURE environment such as family excursions, park barbecues, dining out, birthday parties, hiking out, moms’ night out, fathers’ night out and toys exchange and resale.

Some few examples include:
-Forming online PTA social groups to share photos and videos privately.
-Forming social groups and forums for families with children with chronic diseases such as cerebral palsy and seizure
-Forming private groups for family relatives and friends in order to strengthen the familial bonds
-Forming online social groups for the neighborhood watch programs and local churches
